Stashak Named NJCAA Division III Pitcher of the Week

Sophomore Pitcher Cody Stashak has been named the Division III Pitcher of the Week by the National Junior College Athletic Association for the week ending on April 13th.

Stashak (Oakcrest HS) pitched 8 innings in a big win over #2 ranked Gloucester County College.  Over those 8 innings, Stashak didn't allow a single run, scattering 3 hits and striking out 6 Roadrunner batters.

With that big-time performance over Gloucester, Cody is now 6-1 with a 1.96 ERA on the season.  He has pitched a total of 41 innings and has struck out 54 opposing batters, good for the fifth most strikeouts in the nation.

Stashak was also named the Garden State Athletic Conference Player of the Week earlier in the week.  Aside from his performance on the mound, Cody also added 6 RBI including a home run at the plate in wins over Atlantic Cape Community College and Middlesex County College.

This was the second week Stashak has been named the NJCAA Division III Pitcher of the Week.  He earned the same honors back on February 26th after throwing a no-hitter in his season debut at Delaware Technical and Community College.
