Latcham, Cornman Sweep GSAC Players of the Week

Cumberland Freshmen William Latcham and Danielle Cornman were named the Garden State Athletic Conference Players of the Week in the sports of baseball and softball.

Latcham becomes the third consecutive Duke to be named the GSAC player of the week in the team's first week of the season.  He joins Tim Gallagher (2013) and Cody Stashak (2014) with that honor. In his lone start of the week, Latcham (1-0) pitched six scoreless innings, sprinkling three hits and two walks while striking out six batters in a 4-0 win over Carl Sandburg College.  Latcham, the Cardinal O'Hara graduate, helped the Dukes to a 6-2 record down in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Cornman shined this past week in a 6-1 week for the Dukes Softball Program.  Cornman batted an impressive 11 for 17 (.647), driving in 14 runs, and scoring 9 times on the week.  Earning six walks during that stretch, she posted an On-Base-Percentage of .739.  In a doubleheader sweep of Anne Arundel, Cornman went 5 for 6 at the plate while driving in seven Dukes base-runners.
