Baseball Hits Past Atlantic Cape

The Dukes scored 19 runs on 18 hits on their way to a 19-8 victory on the road at Atlantic Cape CC.  The win completed a season sweep of the Buccaneers.  Sophomore Calvin Clark picked up his first win as a starter this season, going six innings and allowing no earned runs while striking out five.

Five Cumberland batters recorded two hits or more on the day. Freshman Dan Goggin had a four hit day that included three doubles, four RBIs and five runs scored. Raul Perez-Duran stayed hot at the dish, hitting 3 for 5 with runs scored and two RBIs.

Perez-Duran has put together five multi-hit games over his last seven and now sports a 10 game hitting streak.  Mitch Walker finished with three hits, driving in three runs and freshman Nick Ferret scored four times on the afternoon.

After an off-day on Friday, the Dukes will host two doubleheaders this weekend.  Cumberland will welcome in Delaware County Community College on Saturday and Middlesex County College on Sunday.  The first pitch will be thrown at 12:00 PM on both days.
