Sophomore's Calvin Clark and Raul Perez-Duran continued the slew of signings from the Cumberland Baseball program as they signed their National Letters of Intent to continue their academic and baseball careers at Goldey-Beacom College.
Clark and Perez-Duran played a crucial role in the Dukes 36-16 record and third consecutive appearance in the NJCAA Region 19 Championship Game. Perez-Duran earned All-Region 19 honors as an outfielder this past season, hitting .344 with four homeruns, 32 RBIs, 38 runs scored, and 11 stolen bases. Perez-Duran also made seven appearances on the mound in 2016, recording a 4-0 record, striking out 25 batters in 27.2 innings pitched.
Clark started the 2016 campaign in the Dukes bullpen but his role expanded to include appearances as a starter and finishing the final 17 games as Cumberland's Designated Hitter. Clark recorded 2 saves and a season ERA of 3.02 in 44.2 innings of work. In those 44.2 innings, Clark sat down a total of 54 batters. In 17 games at the plate, Clark hit .321 with two home runs, three doubles, and 13 RBIs.
