The 2017 Dukes Baseball Program set all kinds of records throughout the course of the season, ending with numerous post-season awards for individual team members. The man leading the Dukes success all season long, Head Coach Keith Gorman, continued that trend, being named the 2017 NJCAA DIII District G Coach of the Year by the American Baseball Coaches Association.
The top honor for this district comes on the heels of a fantastic run by the Dukes Baseball program in which Gorman led Cumberland to their most successful season in school history. Under Gorman's command the Dukes set an all-time record for wins in a season (55), recorded the highest winning percentage in school history (.952), went on a remarkable 33 game win streak, captured a regular season conference title, the NJCAA Region 19 Championship, and a third place finish at the NJCAA DIII World Series.
Earlier this season, Coach Gorman amassed his 200th win on March 26th with a 10-0 win over Montgomery County CC in just his sixth season with Cumberland. The Dukes skipper eclipsed 230 total wins this season and is sporting a 233-75 overall record (.756) since arriving in Vineland, NJ back in 2011.
