Dukes Hold Off Vikings

With an 84-79 victory over Ocean County College, the Dukes have put together two wins and improve to 2-1 in conference play after an 0-3 start to the 2014-15 season.  Clinging to a three-point lead late in the contest, freshman Terron Mitchell pulled down a defensive rebound, got fouled, and calmly knocked down the game clinching free-throws.  Mitchell finished with 8 points and 7 rebounds.

The Dukes bench chipped in for thirty-one points on the night, twenty-four of those came from DeAndre Solomon (14) and Tyheem Albright (10) on a combined 9 of 14 shooting from the field.  Fellow freshmen Markevis Johnson and Melvin Allen joined them in double-figures, tallying 13 and 15 points.

Cumberland will look to make it three straight in tough road game at Bergen Community College Saturday afternoon.  The game will tip-off at 2PM in Paramus, NJ.
