In their first game back in over a week, the Dukes looked like they haven't lost a step, cruising to a 100-65 victory over Elizabethtown's JV squad. This was a non-conference feel-good win for a Cumberland team re-entering conference play this weekend.
Entering the break with a 47-33 lead, the Dukes used a 22-2 run to put the game out of reach. Markevis Johnson led the Dukes in scoring with 13 and Melvin Allen added 12 points and 5 rebounds in limited action. Freshmen Seth Hackett and James Coates chipped in with nine points apiece.
Up next, the Dukes will host conference opponent Sussex County Community College for an afternoon matchup this Saturday. This will be the first of three straight conference home games as Cumberland looks to make a push towards the top of the Garden State Athletic Conference.
