Last time these two teams met, Seth Hackett hit the game-winning shot as time expired. For encore, Hackett poured in 35 points on 16 of 24 shooting from the field. During a critical stretch early in the second half, when the Dukes needed a big bucket, Hackett came up with it.
Fellow freshmen Khaliq Ford, Markevis Johnson, and Terron Mitchell also scored in double-figures. Ford tallied 18 points on an efficient 6 of 10 shooting night, adding 5 of 6 from the line. Johnson chipped in with 17 and Terron Mitchell recorded his second straight double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
With the win, the Dukes sit at 12-12 with four games left to play. Two wins out of the four will get them into the playoffs for the second straight year. Next up, a road test against University of Pennsylvania's JV squad on Tuesday night.
