The Dukes collected their third consecutive win on the road at Atlantic Cape CC with an 84-80 win. Cumberland held the lead for a majority of the game, having an answer everytime the Buccaneers threatened to take the lead.
Sophomore Markevis Johnson knocked down three key buckets from beyond the arc under the five minute mark to help seal the victory. Johnson sunk a total of seven three-pointers on the evening, accounting for all 21 of his points. Fellow sophomore Khaliq Ford led the Dukes in scoring with 23 points. Kyle Philo chipped in with 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists, and Shaheed Black recorded 9 points, pulled down 10 rebounds, and blocked 7 shots.
Cumberland's road win improved their overall record to 3-4 season. The Dukes will return home after the holiday weekend for a conference match-up with Union County College on Tuesday December 1st.
