2015 Softball Season Underway in Cocoa Beach, FL

The Softball Program escaped the cold temperatures and snow-layered fields by way of Cocoa Beach, Florida.  The Dukes are currently taking part in a '12 games in 6 days' Spring Break trip. All of the games are being played at the Chain of Lakes Park Softball Complex. Over the first two days, Cumberland went 2-4 against some steep competition. 

After dropping their season opener against Anoka-Ramsey Community College, the Dukes rebounded to sweep Itasca Community College in a doubleheader by scores of 15-4 and 14-7.  Over those two games, freshmen Lauren Tobolski and Casey Kisielewski shined at the plate, going a combinded 12 for 15 (.800), tallying 10 runs and 10 RBIs between them.  Pennsville Outfielder and Catcher Danielle Cornman added 5 RBI including the Dukes first Home Run of the 2015 Season.

Through six games, Tobolski leads the team in batting average (.609) and Runs-Batted-In with 12.  Kisielewski is second in average (.458) and leads the team in runs scored (11).  Returning sophomore Kodi Pollock is second in runs scored (10) is currently hitting .421.  After a day off, the Dukes will be back on the diamond on Tuesday with three games, a doubleheader against Vermillion Community College and a 3:00PM matchup with Rainy River Community College.
