Freshman Cornman Named GSAC Player of the Week

Freshman outfielder Danielle Cornman has been named the softball player of the week in the Garden State Athletic Conference for the second time this season. Cornman has been on a torrid pace this season and it continued in an 8-0 week for the #4 ranked Dukes.

She batted an impressive .692 (18 for 26) on the week, crossing the plate 12 times and driving in 19 runs over the eight-game span.  In a road victory over Middlesex County College, Danielle hit a perfect 3 for 3 while driving in a season season-high 6 RBIs.

The Pennsville native followed up the next day with a 3 for 4, two run, four RBI performance that included a three-run homerun in the second game of a doubleheader sweep over the County College of Morris.  Cornman is hitting .522 on the season and is currently leading the nation with 71 runs-batted-in.
