Alanna Loyle Honored at National Girls & Women In Sports Day

Former Cumberland Alumni and Women's Basketball player Alanna Loyle received recognition from the New Jersey Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women for her achievements on and off the court Cumberland. Seton Hall University hosted National Girls and Women in Sports Day and honored girls and women in sports at the high school and intercollegiate levels.  This year also marked the 21st Annual New Jersey Woman of the Year Awards Luncheon and 40 years since the inception of Title XIX in our country.

On the court at Cumberland, Loyle totaled 968 points and 390 rebounds in her two years with the Dukes.  In her sophomore season, Alanna averaged 20.7 points and 9 rebounds per game.  Her 20.7 scoring average was good for 5th highest in the nation amongst all NJCAA Division III. Off of the court Alanna also excelled in the classroom, graduating with her associates degree in Biomedical Science. Loyle is now continuing her academic and athletic careers at Montaclair State University.  She is currently part of a women's basketball team that just completed an undefeated regular season en route to capturing the program's third New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) regular season title.
