Women's Basketball Shows No Signs of Rust in Victory

After a a three week hiatus, the women's basketball program was back on the court Saturday afternoon, showing no signs of rust in a 66-50 victory on the road at conference opponent Bergen Community College.  

Averaging just 3.2 ppg on the season, freshman Sara Mazzeo knocked down four shots from beyond the arc on her way to a team-high 17 points.

Fellow freshman Shai Peterson posted her fourth double-double of the season, recording 13 points and 10 rebounds, while sophomore captain Sahara Lopez-Dublin helped steady the Cumberland offensive.  Lopez-Dublin added 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists on the afternoon.

The Lady Dukes are starting off 2016 in the win column, improving to 10-6 overall and 9-3 in Region 19 play.  Up next, the Cumberland Women will host Camden County College next Tuesday January 19th at 5:00 PM.
