A late goal off of the head of freshman Dayna Myers knotted the match at one apiece, forcing extra time. The extra period saw chances from both teams, including an opportunity for the Dukes in the waning seconds that ended on a hand ball just before time expired. Fresman goalkeeper Imani Gaines was sensational in net, keeping the visiting Colts off of the scoreboard in extra time, making numerous acrobatic saves. Gaines tallied a total of 22 saves on the afternoon for a save percentage of .956.
Today's result of a 1-1 draw moves the Dukes up to seventh in the Region 19 standings (1-2-1). Cumberland will have a week off before returning the pitch next Tuesday September 27th to square off against Rowan College at Gloucester County.
