Game 1 (9 innings)
Navy leads series 1-0
WP Ennis; LP Money; S Capriotti
Both teams put on a hitting display with navy collecting 14 hits to golds 13. The difference in this game was defense. Gold had gour critical errors and navy did not have one. Navy saw three players with three hits: Robert Bunton, Ridge Herrman and Taylor Cheli. Herrman had 2 RBI's on the day. Gold players Mike Earling and Jordan Glover recorded 3 hits apiece. Glover added 2 RBI's.
Game 2 (12 innings)
Navy leads series 2-0
WP Casiano; LP Westfield
Game 2 went for an exciting 12 innings. Defense proved to be the difference again in Navy's second straight win. Gold committed three costly errors that led to a five run eighth inning for the navy team to tie the ball game. Two errors in the 12th and a game winning sacrifice fly by Tyler Mixon finished the gold team off. Navy had Talyor Cheli again with three hits while driving in two runs. Robert Bunton also had two hits.
Game 3 (8 innings)
Navy leads series 2-1
WP Money; LP Herrman
Game three was again decided by defense. This time Gold would take advantage of six errors by the Navy team by scoring 10 runs on eight hits. Team manager Tim Gallagher had three hits on the day.
Series Tied 2-2
WP O'Neill; LP Ennis
Game four was a much cleaner game with pitching and defense. Josh O'Neill gave up two runs in the first inning but would pitch the next four scoreless for the win. Luke Westfield finished the job with three innings of relief. For Gold Tim Gallagher had three hits and three stolen bases. Chris Matos and Louis Santini also finished with three hits.
The Navy skipper Anthony Lopez had three hits.
Game 5 (9 innings)
Gold wins series 3 - 2.
WP Pace; LP Capriotti
Starting pitcher for Navy Chris Capriotti gave up three runs in the first inning but pitched the next five scoreless. It wouldn't matter as starting pitcher for Gold Nick Pace gave up one run in the first inning and pitched the next six scoreless. Chris Seibert came in and slammed the door in relief pitching two scoreless innings.
Tim Gallagher finished with three hits for the Gold team. Robert Bunton and Ryan Solari had two hits apiece for the Navy team. MVP for the series is Nick Pace. He was voted in by both team managers. Pitched a great game five through a tough back injury. Congrats Nick!!!
