With a rare set of circumstances, Hikeem Pruitt and the Dukes are in the Region XIX Playoffs for the first time in five years. For one of Cumberland's losses this season, their opponent played an ineligible player, forcing the opponent to forfeit the game to Cumberland. That forfeit win gave the Dukes a .500% (10-10) recrod in the Region and qualifying them for the playoffs. This situation came to light just one day after the Dukes lost their final game of the season in a contest that was thought to officially eliminate them from making it to the postseason. With that, the Dukes have new life as Hikeem Pruitt and company look to prove that they belong in the tournament as they travel to Atlantic Cape Community College on Saturday Feb. 22nd at 1PM. The Buccaneers of Atlantic Cape are listed at the #6 seed and visiting Cumberland was seeded #11. Atlantic Cape won both regular season matchups between the two.
