The Cumberland County College Dukes Men's Basketball Team defeated the Camden County College Cougars, 71-58, on the strength of a well-balanced attack.

Five Dukes players scored in double figures to up their record to 8-1 in Region XIX play and 10- 3 overall.

Freshmen Tyler Lunsford and Luis Reyes scored 13 points each to pace CCC's offense.

Luciano Lubrano and Kevin Clark, both freshmen, scored 12 points each. Sophomore Haashim Wallace also chipped in 12 points with several of them coming on highlight-reel dunks only a week after one of his dunks made Sportscenter's top 10 plays of the day.

The Dukes started the game by going on an 11-4 run. The Cougars then closed the gap to make the score 18-16.

CCC then proceeded to go on a 17-4 spurt, which helped them finish the first half with a 10 point lead, 35-25.

The Dukes started the second half with strong, jumping out the gates with a 15-4 run. The Cougars chipped away on their lead throughout the second half, getting as close as 7 points with 2:26 left in the game.

Lunsford extinguished what little fire Camden County had left by scoring 6 points in the final minute of the game.

The Dukes next game will be on Saturday, December 16th, at Cunningham Gymnasium at 2 p.m., against Region XIX foe, Brookdale Community College.
