Game of "Runs"

In an important Garden State Athletic Conference matchup, the Cumberland County College Men's Basketball Team overcame some adversity by defeating the visiting Passaic County Community College Panthers, 85-74.

Freshman Tyler Lunsford put on a superb performance, scoring 20 points, while leading the team to victory.

Freshmen Luciano Lubrano and Kevin Clark, as well as Sophomores Haashim Wallace and Donovan Spencer all scored in double figures for the Dukes.

CCC had a 13-7 lead with 12:09 left in the first half. The lead ballooned to 18 after the Dukes hit back-to-back-to-back 3 pointers, two by Clark and one by Lubrano.

The Dukes went into halftime with a comfortable 16 point advantage, leading 39-23.

At the 11:50 mark in the second half, the Dukes were up by 15 and the score was 56-41.

However, the adversity came when the Panthers went on a 13-2 run cutting the Dukes lead to two, 58-56, with 8:45 to go in the game.

CCC countered with a 23-9 run of their own to put the game out of reach.

The next game for the Dukes is on January 16th, when they take their 11-2 conference record on the road to  play Union Community College.
