For the second consecutive season, the Cumberland Men's Soccer Program will make an appearance in the Region 19 Playoffs. The Dukes used three first-half goals in a shutout victory over visiting Globe Institute of Technology to clinch a playoff spot in the team's final regular season match.
The Dukes first goal came off of a save from the visiting goaltender with sophomore Freddie Beck following up the rebound to place the ball in the back of the net. Freshman Derrick Boateng-Gyimah then connected with forward Raheem Bradnock for the second Cumberland score of the afternoon.
With the victory, the Dukes finish the regular season with a 8-8-1 record, reeling off four-straight wins to qualify for the postseason. The team will wait for the Region 19 seeding committee to release the first-round matchups to see where they will travel for the opening game.
