With wins of 15-0 and 15-1, the Dukes kept rolling with a doubleheader sweep of Atlantic Cape CC Tuesday afternoon. The same day she was named the conference player of the week in the GSAC, sophomore pitcher Rosalie LaGrotta picked up her 15th win of the season with a four-hit shutout.
At the plate, the Dukes smacked a total of 23 hits over the two game set. Four of those hits came off the bat of sophomore Lauren Tobolski, accounting for 6 total RBIs. Danielle Cornman went 2 for 4 at the dish with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored and Gabrielle Castellini went 3 for 3 with three runs scored and three RBIs in the Game 1 15-0 win.
Carly DiDonna hit 3 for 3 with 4 runs scored and 4 RBIs in the second game. Sophomore Casey Kisielewski and freshman Samantha Sleister each went 2 for 3, with Kisielewski scoring twice and Sleister crossing the plate three times. Fellow fresman Liz Carpani picked up the win in the circle, her 4th of the season. Carpani went five innings, allowing just one run on three hits while striking out three.
Cumberland notched wins 18 and 19 of the season and will look to get win number 20 Thursday afternoon when they return home to host Camden County College.
