The Cumberland County Women's Basketball team head into the Holiday Break with a 13-1 record, but in the spirit of giving, they also get it done off the court and give back to the community.
The Dukes adopted a family for the holiday and collected and purchased gifts to make Christmas special for a mother and her four children (Daughter 15, Sons 12, 8, and 6). The family made a wish list, and with finals week quickly approaching and preparing for the last few games before the holiday break, the team came together with their donations to give each child at least three of the gifts that they had on their wish list. Some of the gifts included a bike, a scooter and a drum set for the younger ones, a coffee maker, gift cards and other exciting gifts.
The family was invited to support the Dukes in their overtime win against Middlesex and pick up their gifts and eat holiday treats with the team afterwards.
