Skylynn Oyola named Cumberland Woman of the Year

EDISON - For National Girls and & Women in Sports Day, Region XIX held their inaugural Women in Sports Day hosted by Middlesex College.  Each member of Region XIX selected their Woman of the Year and for this year, RCSJ-Cumberland selected multi-sport athlete, Sky Oyola.

Oyola, who is a member of the Women's Basketball and Softball teams, has represented the Dukes Family in so many positive ways.  She serves as the Vice President of the Dukes Student-Athlete Advisory Council, is an intern at Townsquare Media - Lite 96.9 FM, was a Miss Teen USA Pageant Contestant, all while being a 3.0 GPA student majoring in Radio, Television, & Film.  

The Dukes Athletics Department had this to say about Skylynn: "We are so proud to have Skylynn represent our community at the Region XIX Women in Sports event.  She exemplifies everything that makes Cumberland a special place.  Her kindness is boundless, her energy is limitless, and her toughness is unmistakable.  She deserves this recognition and we are extremely happy for her."
