Nationals Recap: Humphreys late charge earns recognition

CHAUTAUQUA - It was a matter of perseverance for RCSJ-Cumberland Dukes Golf at the 2026 NJCAA Golf National Tournament.

On the Men's side, Chris Barone and Chase Adomaitis battled through a tough opening and 2nd round.  Chase Adomaitis shot an opening round score of 78, but fell behind uncharacteristically in round 2.  He would then come back with a vengeance to shoot a tournament best +1 (73) to launch himself from the bottom area of the leaderboard and into the upper 20s to give him an outside shot at all-american status (Top 18).  Barone was consistent throughout the match shooting in the low 80s to finish 63rd in the field.

On the Women's side, Brigid Humphreys was the star as the freshman was in contention all tournament, then turned it on in the final round.  Humphreys fired a tournament best 97 that catapulted her from on the bubble to firmly in 18th place as she leaped past 4 spots to place in the Top 18.  Lila Camp consistently lowered her score each day and scored an overall personal best +34 (106) on the final day.
