Womens Basketball turning the tide
VINELAND - After restarting the Womens Basketball program in 2022, Womens Basketball head coach, TSgt George Linen, has been working towards bringing the program back to the success it experienced nearly a decade ago. After two years of "hammering the nail", it looks like Sarge's work is starting to pay off. The Dukes won their first game of the 2024-25 season in grand fashion against Lehigh Carbon on December 5 by the score of 60-33 after losing to the Cougars just weeks earlier by a similar margin. They would go on to defeat the Passaic Panthers on Saturday, December 7, 41-37, where the Dukes found themselves down 7 points with 6 minutes to go in the 4th quarter. It would be the first time Dukes Womens Basketball would earn back to back wins since the 2016-17 season.
"Its a great feeling," Coach Linen said. "The ladies have been working hard, the coaches have been working hard, and we still have a lot of work to do. But it's fun to experience some success after all the time we put in." The Dukes have three games remaining before the much needed holiday break. Schedule listed below.
