Womens Basketball climbs the standings, defeat Passaic 45-37
VINELAND - The Dukes Womens Basketball team have taken 2025 by storm winning three of the first four games of 2025. The Dukes kicked off the calendar year with a resounding 63-43 victory over the Ocean Vikings with Gianna Baldino leading the way tallying her first triple double of her career with 22 points, 10 rebounds, 10 steals along with 6 assists. After falling to DII Salem CC, the Dukes won their next two games, 48-42 over Bergen CC and 45-37 over Passaic County.
Baldino and Ana Patino have led the way with Patino averaging 11 points and 9 rebounds per game. Armani Mejia and Janessa Marienski have elevated their game along with Sophia Ramos-Garcia and Sky Oyola to bring the Dukes back into playoff contention. Egypt Owens made her return to the lineup after missing the first 12 games of the season and has made a tremendous impact with her experience on the offensive end as well as providing fantastic leadership on the defensive end.
The Dukes are now 7-8 and are now in playoff contention heading into the back end of the regular season.
