Dukes to Begin World Series as Nation's #1 Ranked Team

It's been a week and a half since the Cumberland Baseball team has played a game, but not much has changed.  The Dukes are still the number one ranked team in all of NJCAA Division III for the fourth consecutive poll.  Come Saturday, it will have been two full weeks since the team has taken the field.

Their post-season journey will resume Saturday night at 7PM (CDT).  The Dukes will play Waubonsee Community College, the fourth ranked team in the nation, at Mike Carter Field located on the Tyler Junior College campus in Tyler, Texas.

The 2014 Division III World Series features eight teams in a double-elimination style tournament played over six days. The other seven teams include: Herkimer County Community College (38-9), Waubonsee Community College (37-23), host Tyler Junior College (38-17), Prince George's Community College (12-21), St. Cloud Technical & Community College (27-7), Suffolk County Community College (22-10), and Northern Essex Community College (20-12).

The winner of the Cumberland v. Waubonsee game will play the winner of a matchup between Prince George's Community College and St. Cloud Technical & Community College on Sunday at 7PM. The two losers from those two games will play in an elimination game scheduled for Sunday at 12 noon.
