Makosky leads Dukes past Delaware County in 10-0 victory
VINELAND - RCSJ-Cumberland Baseball won big over Delaware County Phantoms 10-0 on Friday
The Dukes got on the board in the bottom of the second inning after Marino was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Rodriguez singled, scoring two runs, Shover hit into a double play, but one run scored, and an error scored one run.
Otley Makosky earned the win for the Dukes, his second of the season. The pitcher surrendered three hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out five and walking one. Pat Loughney tossed one inning of no-run ball for RCSJ-Cumberland. He allowed allowed zero hits, striking out two and walking none.
Malachi Woods and Tyler Schoppe were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for the Dukes. Zach Braig led RCSJ-Cumberlandwith two runs batted in. Chase Montgomery earned two walks in the win . Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game. Woods and Montgomery each stole multiple bases for the Dukes . RCSJ-Cumberland ran wild on the base paths, collecting seven stolen bases for the game.
RCSJ-Cumberland Baseball will travel to Delaware County for the doubleheader on Saturday to close out their Region XIX Series.
