Cumberland Baseball got back to their winning ways on Saturday, taking games of 12-0 and 15-4 over Ocean County College. Pitchers Will Latcham and Justin Smith continued their impressive seasons on the mound, with Latcham picking up his fifth win and Smith improving to a perfect 8-0 on the season.
Latcham pitched a complete game one-hitter, allowing no runs and striking out six batters in the first game of the doubleheader. The Dukes hurler received help at the plate from Robert Bunton who went 3 for 5, scoring a run. Dalton Mayberry scored twice, adding an RBI and rightfielder Jarred Corniell drove in a pair.
In Game number two, Smith earned his eighth win on the hill in five innings of work with sophomore Clayton Enzman pitching two scoreless innings in relief. John Schoelkopf hit 2 for 4, including four RBIs and triple. Catcher Emil Zorrilla laced two doubles in a 3 for 5 effort at the plate and Arturo Ocasio scored three times, one of which came on a two-run homerun.
