Baseball set to host 1st Round Series
VINELAND - The RCSJ-Cumberland Dukes Baseball team finds themselves in familiar territory as they will enter the Region XIX Baseball Tournament as the 3-seed and will be hosting a first round playoff series. The Dukes have been seeded 5 or lower the past two seasons after being a top seed between 2013-2022, making the Region XIX Final Four each year between 2014-2022 and earning a championship berth in 7 of the 9 seasons.
Cumberland is set to host the 6th seeded Camden CC Cougars, a team who played the Dukes tough with three close games during their regular season series nearly a month ago. Cumberland swept the series, but each game came down to one or two plays in favor of the Dukes. Tyler Bunting leads the Dukes offense with 10 home runs, 62 RBIs, and a.424 batting average. Austin Wokock and Joey Kurtz have been at the top of the rotation for the Dukes all season and will look to carry the Navy & Gold back to the Region XIX Final Four.
